Scott Maitland
Scott Maitland is a military veteran, serial entrepreneur and adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at UNC-Chapel Hill. While in law school twenty years ago, Maitland founded his first venture Top of the Hill Restaurant & Brewery to prevent a T.G.I. Friday’s from dominating the main intersection of Chapel Hill.
Communications Professor & Pitch Coach
In addition to being the Executive Director for Launch Chapel, which is also a sponsoring partner for The Financiers' Forum, Tim teaches several Communication courses in the MBA Programs at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, work as a pitch coach with many entrepreneurship/startup accelerators in the Triangle & Triad, and am a licensed partner with Richard Lewis Communications/CultureActive as a cross-cultural communication coach.
Brian Scott
Owner, Aggie Technologies NC, LLC
Brian is a true “techie” and has been since entering the industry in 1985. Starting his career in IT with IBM after graduating high school, he has enjoyed a lengthy and rewarding corporate career in enterprise systems management. In 2004, he wanted to strike out on his own and started Aggie Technologies NC, LLC with a lifetime friend. Focusing on maintaining stability from an IT perspective for clients and fostering growth while utilizing emerging technology, our company feels every person and business should know they are valuable. Brian is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University and a Durham native.
Steve Beisser
Steve is a successful entrepreneur and versatile leader with extensive higher education and healthcare sector experience. He was the Principal Founder and former President of the Academic Benchmarking Consortium (ABC Insights), a Launch Chapel Hill Cohort 3 start up that had a successful exit in 2020 and is now one of three business lines within HelioCampus where he currently works as a Vice President.
Steve holds a Professor of the Practice appointment at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC-Chapel Hill where he is also an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Launch Chapel Hill business accelerator. He is also a limited partner with CoFounders Capital, a Triangle-based venture capital firm that invests primarily in B2B SaaS companies located in the Southeast. He is also an Associate Member of the Carolina Angel Network.
